Three developers have brought forward plans to develop over 16GW of new nuclear power at 6 locations, Hinkley Point C, Sizewell, Bradwell, Wylfa, Oldbury and Moorside. Each project will require up to 5,600 construction jobs at peak, equating to 25,000 individual job opportunities on each site. You can find out more about the nuclear employment opportunities on each project here.
The new build projects will add to the existing demand for nuclear workers in operating and maintaining the current fleet of nuclear energy plants, lifetime extensions of the existing fleet and the ongoing decommissioning projects.
With no new nuclear power plant having been constructed in the UK for over 25 years, the UK Nuclear Industry will need to attract and reskill a new generation of Construction Professionals creating Nuclear Job Opportunities for people within the industry and those new to nuclear.
