Equality of opportunity is not just a noble aim, but a key driver for business success. Utilities recognise the benefits of employing a workforce that reflects the diversity of their customer base and construction companies have identified diversification and a widening of their talent pool as an important factor in securing the level of resources required.
To achieve these aims many utility and construction companies have established diversity goals with business leaders actively influencing diverse thinking within their company and down through their supply chains.
A2O People provide diversity consulting & resourcing solutions to help organisations achieve their diversity goals.
Our aim is to make the quality and diversity of our client’s workforce one of their greatest assets.
Helping Organisations to Recruit Diverse Candidates
We work with employers to identify resourcing solutions where some categories of worker are under-represented in their workforce. A2O People have a particular strength in diversity recruitment, partnering with utilities, consultant and contractor organisations to source suitably qualified women, disabled and ethnic minority candidates.
A key differentiator is our ability to discover high-calibre people by proactively searching deeper into local communities and helping candidates recognise how their skills match opportunities in industries they may not have considered.
Our partnerships with not-for-profit organisations, our focus on establishing strong community networks, together with targeted events to attract passive candidates and an innovative referral system allow us to reach out to sections of the community that would otherwise remain untapped.
If you have a recruitment need please submit a vacancy and register on our mailing list to be kept up to date with HR and diversity initiatives in the utility and construction sectors.
If you are interested in exploring employment opportunities in the utility and construction industries please submit your CV.
Support to Help Integrate New Employees
A2O People aim to give people from diverse & disadvantaged backgrounds the best possible chance of success in their career transition. We recognise that businesses may need on-going support to help integrate candidates with particular needs such as those with a disability or those returning to the workforce.
For example a return to work programme for an injured ex-forces candidate could include pre-placement discussions to assess specific needs, an accessibility & needs assessment of the workplace providing advice on any adaptations required, relocation services, community integration, manager coaching to recognise employee support needs and stress events, assigning a mentor, ongoing counselling support, and developing tailor made intervention programmes after incidents or accidents.
As each assignment many be bespoke please contact a member of our on-boarding team who will discuss your requirements and prepare a proposal detailing the scope of our services.
